Nôs Beleza ("Nôs Beleza," "we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application operated by Kaymer LLC ("Kaymer"). Nôs Beleza is a marketplace for beauty and personal-care services in Cabo Verde: it helps customers find independent businesses and professionals, browse the services they offer, and request an appointment, and it gives those businesses the tools to run their listing, their schedule, and their appointments.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Nôs Beleza app collects, how it is used and stored, who it may be shared with, and the choices available to you, including how to delete your account. It describes the app as it works today. Where a capability is not built yet, this policy says so rather than describing a plan as though it were current behaviour.
This policy applies only to the Nôs Beleza mobile application. It does not apply to the thekaymer.com website, which has its own Privacy Policy, or to any other app published by Kaymer LLC.
It also does not apply to the independent businesses and professionals you find through Nôs Beleza. They are not employed by Kaymer LLC. Anything you give them directly — in person, by phone, by message, or at an appointment — is handled by them, under their own practices, not by this policy.
1. Accounts and Roles
Nôs Beleza has two kinds of account, and which one you hold determines what information the app holds about you:
- Customer accounts are for people looking for beauty services. A customer can search and browse businesses, save favourites, request and manage bookings, submit a review after an appointment, contact support, and manage their own account settings.
- Professional (business) accounts are for people running a beauty business. A professional account manages a business profile, its services, its schedule, its appointments, and its portfolio, and can submit information for verification.
A professional account is business-only. It cannot be used to make customer bookings. A professional who wants a personal appointment opens a separate customer account, and the two accounts are not linked to each other by the app.
Kaymer LLC also operates an internal administrator workspace, used by our own staff for professional verification, moderation of reports and reviews, and support. Administrator access is described in section 12.
2. Information You Provide
Account information
When you create an account, we collect and store information such as:
- Email address
- Display name, and first and last name where you supply them
- Which sign-in methods are linked to your account
- Your account role (customer or professional)
- Your saved island and city, if you set them
- Your notification preferences
- Whether you have completed onboarding
- Account creation and last-updated timestamps
Nôs Beleza supports three sign-in methods: email and password, Sign in with Apple, and Google Sign-In. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication. If you sign in with an email address and password, your password is handled by Firebase Authentication and is never stored by Nôs Beleza in our own database.
The app does not currently offer a profile photo for customer accounts.
Business and professional information
If you run a business on Nôs Beleza, you provide the information that makes up your public listing and the private settings behind it. This may include:
- Business name, category, and description
- The island and city or locality where the business operates, and the address or location details you choose to publish
- Contact details you choose to publish
- The services you offer, including their names, descriptions, durations, and the prices you set
- Your working hours for each day of the week, full-day closures and an optional reason for them, and booking settings such as how far ahead you accept bookings, buffer time between appointments, whether same-day booking is allowed, and a daily appointment limit
- Portfolio photos, and captions for them
- Replies you publish to reviews of your business
Business schedules are stored against Cabo Verde time (Atlantic/Cape_Verde).
A published review reply is attributed to the business, not to the individual person who typed it. The app does not store which member of staff wrote a reply.
Booking information
When a customer requests an appointment, the app creates a booking record. See section 3 for what that record contains and who can see it.
Reviews
A customer may submit a review after a booking. A review is a star rating and, optionally, written text. See section 8 for how reviews are published and what happens to them.
Support communications
If you open a support request in the app, we store the request and the messages in its conversation, including the category you choose, the subject, and everything you write in it. See section 9.
Reports
If you report a business, a review, or other content, we store the report, what it refers to, its status, and the account that submitted it, so our administrators can act on it.
Verification information
If you submit your business for verification, we store what you submit and any file you upload as supporting evidence. See section 7.
3. Information Generated Through Use
Some information is created by the app as you use it rather than typed in by you.
Booking records
A booking record holds the business it is for, the service requested, the appointment date and time, the booking's status and its history as it moves between states — requested, confirmed, declined, cancelled, rescheduled, or completed — and the timestamps of those changes.
A booking also carries a small snapshot of the customer's contact details, taken from the customer's account at the moment the booking is created: the display name and the email address. This is deliberately narrow. It is a snapshot rather than a live link, so that the business can identify and reach the customer for that appointment without being able to read the customer's account record. The customer's sign-in identifier, saved island, language, role, and every other account field are excluded from it.
The app applies a second limit on screen: the business sees the customer's name on every booking, but the email address only while there is still an appointment to deliver — that is, while the booking is requested, confirmed, or awaiting a reschedule. On a completed, declined, or cancelled booking, the name remains for the record and the contact address is no longer shown.
Favourites
When a customer saves a business, the app stores that the customer saved that business. Favourites are readable only by the customer who created them.
Moderation records
Reports and administrator moderation decisions — for example, a review being hidden — are recorded with the administrator who made the decision and when.
Notification records
When the app sends you a booking notification, our servers keep an internal delivery record so that the same notification is not sent twice and so that a notification that failed to arrive can be retried. These records are written and read only by our servers; no user can read them.
Operational data
Records throughout the app carry creation and last-updated timestamps. Firebase, our infrastructure provider, processes the technical information needed to run an app of this kind, including network information such as IP addresses and standard service logs. Kaymer LLC does not use analytics software, advertising software, or third-party trackers in Nôs Beleza, and the app does not build an advertising profile of you.
4. Location
This section is deliberately specific, because "location" means very different things in different apps.
Nôs Beleza does not track your device's location. The app does not request location permission, does not read your GPS position, does not follow you in the background, and does not record where you are.
What the app works with instead is location you choose, by name:
- A customer may set a preferred island, and a city, in Settings or Personal Information. That choice is saved to the account and is used to decide what the app shows first.
- Browsing or searching by island does not change your saved island. The only island the app keeps is the one you set yourself.
- A business provides the island and city or locality where it operates, and the address or location details it chooses to publish. That is business information published by the business, and it is shown to customers as part of the listing.
- Search filters businesses by island and matches text you type against business names, categories, cities, islands, and service names.
5. Photos and File Storage
Photos and files are stored with Firebase Storage. The app may ask for access to your camera or your photo library so that you can choose an image to upload, and for permission to choose a document when you submit verification evidence. Those permissions are used only for the upload you are making at the time.
Nôs Beleza keeps uploaded files in three separate areas, with different access:
- Public business media. A business's logo, cover image, and visible portfolio photos are published as part of its listing and are publicly readable. Do not upload anything to a public portfolio that you do not want the public to see.
- Hidden portfolio media. A professional can keep portfolio photos that are not shown to customers. These are stored separately and access is restricted to active members of the owning business, enforced by authenticated access and Firebase Security Rules. The app is built so that no shareable download link is ever created for a hidden photo: the record stores only the internal path to the file, never a public URL.
- Verification evidence. Files submitted for verification are stored in a third area, described in section 7.
These controls are meaningful, and they are what we rely on. They are not a guarantee that no unauthorised access can ever occur. See section 14.
6. Notifications
Nôs Beleza sends notifications about your bookings — for example, when a booking is requested, confirmed, declined, cancelled, or rescheduled, and as an appointment reminder before it takes place.
To do this, the app registers a push notification token for each device you sign in on, using Firebase Cloud Messaging. A token record identifies the device and the account it belongs to. You can read and remove your own tokens; no other user can. You can also turn notification types off in your notification preferences, and you can disable notifications for the app entirely in your device settings.
When you delete your account, the tokens for every device that account registered are removed — not only the device you are holding.
7. Professional Verification
A professional may submit their business for verification. This section explains what that means, and what it does not.
What we collect. To submit a business for verification, a professional confirms their storefront details and uploads a supporting file — an image or a PDF. The submission record stores the business it relates to, the account that submitted it, its status, and a reference to the uploaded file.
Why we collect it. Nôs Beleza may review information or documents submitted by professionals to help verify business or profile information, to reduce impersonation and fraudulent listings, and to support moderation and the safety of the marketplace.
Who may review it. Verification evidence is readable only by Kaymer LLC administrators and by the professional account that uploaded it. It is not readable by customers, and it is not readable by other businesses. This is enforced by Firebase Security Rules, not only by what the app chooses to display.
What verification does not mean. Verification is a review of information submitted to us. It is not a licensing check, a professional certification, an insurance check, a background check, or a government approval, and a verified badge does not mean that Kaymer LLC has confirmed any of those things. Nôs Beleza does not verify government licensing. We do not represent that a verified professional is licensed, certified, insured, trained, or approved by any authority, and the legal and administrative requirements that apply to beauty businesses in Cabo Verde are a matter between that business and the relevant Cabo Verdean authorities.
How long we keep it. We retain verification evidence only for as long as reasonably necessary for review, security, legal, and operational purposes, subject to our retention practices. See section 13.
8. Reviews
A customer may submit a review of a business after a booking. A review can be left only once per booking.
A published review is public. Anyone who can see the business's listing can read the star rating, the text of the review, and the display attribution shown with it. That attribution is the reviewer's first name, or an anonymous label when the account has no usable name.
The public review record deliberately does not contain the reviewer's account identifier or the identifier of the booking it came from. The link between a review, its author, and its booking is kept in a separate private record that is readable only by the review's own author and by Kaymer LLC administrators, and that no user can write to.
An administrator may hide a review that breaches our rules. Hiding removes it from public view and from the business's star average. It is recorded as a status change rather than a deletion, so the moderation decision stays auditable.
What happens to a review when you delete your account. Published reviews remain published. Deleting your account clears the stored account identifier from the private ownership record, so the review is no longer linked to you and your reviews can no longer be grouped together by anyone using the app's data. The record itself is kept, without you attached to it, because it is what enforces one review per booking and what lets an administrator trace a review back to its booking if a dispute arises.
Be aware of what this does and does not achieve. This is unlinking, not anonymity. The display attribution — the first name the review was published under — stays on the public review, and deleting your account does not remove it. If you have written anything in the text of a review that identifies you, that text also stays. Please keep that in mind when you write one.
9. Support
The app includes a support centre. When you open a support request, we store the ticket and the messages in its conversation so that we can operate customer support: the category you choose, the subject, the text of your messages, the account that opened the ticket, its status, and the relevant timestamps.
A support ticket and its messages are readable by the account that opened the ticket and by Kaymer LLC administrators. Support tickets are written only by our servers; they cannot be altered directly by any user, including by you or by us from a client app.
Please do not send payment card numbers, passwords, or other sensitive credentials in a support message. We will never ask you for your password.
10. Payments
Nôs Beleza does not process payments. The app does not take payment, does not store or handle card details, does not hold deposits, does not pay professionals, and does not charge a commission on a booking. There is no payment provider integrated into the app.
Any payment for a service is arranged and settled directly between the customer and the business, outside Nôs Beleza. We hold no record of it.
The support centre offers a "payment or subscription" category so that billing questions have somewhere to go. That category does not mean the app processes payments.
If payment ever becomes part of Nôs Beleza, this policy will be updated before it does, and we will tell you what changes.
11. Service Providers
Nôs Beleza is built on Google's Firebase platform. The following services process information in order to operate the app:
- Firebase Authentication — sign-in, account identity, and password reset
- Cloud Firestore — the app's database, holding accounts, businesses, services, schedules, bookings, reviews, favourites, reports, support tickets, and verification records
- Firebase Storage — photos, portfolio media, and verification evidence
- Cloud Functions — the trusted server logic behind bookings, reviews, support, notifications, and account closure
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivery of push notifications
In addition, if you choose to sign in with Apple or with Google, Apple's or Google's sign-in service processes that sign-in. What they receive and how they handle it is governed by their own privacy policies.
That is the complete list of third-party services the app uses to process your information. Nôs Beleza does not include analytics providers, advertising networks, marketing platforms, data brokers, or payment processors.
12. How Information Is Shared
Nôs Beleza does not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or marketing.
Information is shared only in these ways:
- With the business you book. When you request an appointment, the business receives the booking and the limited customer details described in section 3, because it cannot deliver the appointment otherwise.
- Publicly, where you publish it. Business listings, services and their prices, visible portfolio photos, published reviews and their display attribution, and published review replies are public by design.
- With Kaymer LLC administrators. Our administrators may access information where needed for verification, moderation, support, security, and the integrity of the marketplace. Administrator access is limited to our own staff and is exercised for those purposes.
- With our service providers. The services listed in section 11 process information on our behalf in order to run the app.
- Where the law requires it. We may disclose information if we are legally required to, or where we reasonably believe it is necessary to investigate fraud or to protect the safety of a person.
- In a business transfer. If Kaymer LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction. We would tell you before your information became subject to a different policy.
13. Retention and Deletion
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from within the app, in your account settings. You will be asked to confirm that the account is yours — with your password, or by signing in again with Apple or Google if that is how you created it.
If you run a business, closing the storefront runs first, so that the business stops accepting new bookings before your sign-in is removed. If the business still has upcoming or unresolved bookings, deletion does not complete: the app tells you so, new bookings are turned off, and nothing personal is deleted until those appointments are resolved. This is deliberate — a customer with an appointment booked should not simply lose it.
When deletion completes, the following are removed: your profile record, your customer profile, your saved favourites, the push notification tokens for every device the account registered, and your Firebase Authentication sign-in identity. Where your closure leaves a business with nobody to run it, that business's stored media is removed with it.
What is kept, and why. Deleting an account does not erase every record that ever mentioned it, and we would rather say so plainly than promise otherwise:
- Bookings are kept. A booking is a shared record of an appointment between two parties; deleting one would damage the other party's records.
- Reviews are kept and remain public, with the limits and the unlinking described in section 8.
- Reports and moderation records are kept, so that moderation history remains intact.
Bookings and reports are not publicly readable. Once the sign-in identity is gone, they are not reachable by other users of the app.
Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Nôs Beleza and for the security, legal, operational, and record-keeping purposes described in this policy, subject to our retention practices.
We want to be straightforward about the current state of this. Nôs Beleza has a data retention system built, and it runs every day, but it currently runs in preview only: it reports what it would remove and deletes nothing. The specific retention periods it would apply have not yet been finally approved as product policy, and we are not going to publish a number in this policy and call it a promise before that decision is made. When those periods are settled and the deletion is switched on, this policy will be updated to state them.
14. Security
We take security seriously and have designed the app with it in mind. Access to data is controlled by Firebase Security Rules enforced on the server rather than by the app's screens alone; the sensitive operations — creating bookings, publishing reviews, support, verification decisions, account closure — run in trusted server code rather than on your device; private records are shaped so that they do not carry information that does not need to be there; and hidden portfolio media and verification evidence are kept behind authenticated, restricted access.
That said, no method of transmission over the internet and no method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and we do not claim to.
15. International Data Processing
Kaymer LLC is based in the United States. Nôs Beleza is operated using Google Cloud and Firebase infrastructure, and your information may be stored and processed on servers located outside Cabo Verde, including in the United States and other countries where those providers operate. By using Nôs Beleza, you understand that your information may be processed in those locations, which may have different data protection laws from your own country.
16. Children's Privacy
Nôs Beleza is intended for adults arranging beauty and personal-care appointments, and for the businesses that provide them. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
The app does not currently ask for a date of birth or operate an age check at sign-up. If you believe a child has created an account or provided information to us, contact us at support@thekaymer.com and we will remove it.
17. Your Choices
You can:
- View and update your account information in the app
- Change your email address or password in your account settings
- Set or change your preferred island and city
- Change your notification preferences, or turn notifications off in your device settings
- Remove a saved favourite
- Hide or delete a portfolio photo you own, if you run a business
- Delete your account, as described in section 13
If you want to ask what information we hold about you, or raise a concern about how it is handled, email us at support@thekaymer.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information under your local law; tell us what you are asking for and we will respond.
18. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Nôs Beleza changes. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how your information is handled — the introduction of payments, or the switching on of automatic deletion, for example — we will make that clear rather than changing a date and leaving you to find it.
19. Contact Us
